RNIT Explores Possible ROTC Affiliation with the Philippine Navy
The Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) met with representatives of the Philippine Navy to discuss the possible ROTC affiliation for RNIT diploma program trainees. The proposed affiliation aims to enhance leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility among trainees.
The meeting was attended by SGT Myla G Gan PN(M)(RES), S2DP Mark Vergel D Gamo PN(Res), and S2YN Ferdinand D Rodriguez PN, who outlined the initial requirements and framework for ROTC implementation.
Representing RNIT were Atty. Glenn Niรฑo M. Sartillo, Director III, Ms. Anna Christina C. Martinez, Vocational School Administrator II, and Mr. Prenz Jumer B. Lota, Vocational Instruction Supervisor I. The RNIT officials discussed the institutionโs academic programs, student profile, and readiness to comply with regulatory and operational requirements.
The discussion marked a preliminary step toward strengthening partnerships that complement technical-vocational education with national service and leadership development. Further coordination and assessment were agreed upon to determine the feasibility of the proposed ROTC affiliation.
RNIT is committed to exploring programs that provide its trainees with enhanced leadership and civic engagement opportunities. This initiative reflects the institutionโs dedication to holistic education.
